Middle School Staff
Amanda James: 5th & 6th Grade
Miss James has been with VCA since 2021 and was born and raised in Napa. After graduating from Napa High School, she went to Cuesta Junior College in San Luis Obispo, where she completed general education classes and played water polo! She then transferred to Biola University in Southern California and earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Biblical Studies. She began working for a high school and college ministry in Southern California before returning to school and earning her teaching credential and master’s in education, specializing in Best Practices from National University. Miss James taught 1st and 2nd grades in Nevada and Texas before returning to Napa in 2021. When not teaching at VCA, Amanda spends most of her free time with family, spoiling her nieces and nephews!
Jessica Rainey: 7th & 8th Grade
Jessica Rainey joined the VCA team in 2022 as one of our Middle School teachers. During her time at VCA, she has taught history, language arts, P.E., and Bible. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Biblical Studies. Married to her wonderful husband Rob of 10 years, they live in Napa with their two daughters, who also attend VCA. They enjoy spending time with friends and family, exercising, and cooking. Her favorite thing about VCA is working at a school that exalts Christ and emphasizes the Word of God in all it does. She loves the harmony between the younger and older kids on campus.
Jackie Mosley: 5th-8th Grade Math and 7th & 8th Grade Science
Jackie Mosley has been a part of the VCA family since 2010 as a parent and a teacher. Jackie taught third grade for a number of years and now teaches upper-grade Math as well as 7th and 8th grade Science.She holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and a California Multiple Subject teaching credential. She is a dedicated educator passionate about cultivating young minds and committed to fostering a supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued and knows the love of Christ. She has been married for over 20 years to her husband and best friend. Together, they have four children and enjoy CrossFit as a family. Her favorite thing about VCA is the community of people who value faith and education.
Art - Lindsay Deters
Lindsay loves teaching Art for VCA and we are so blessed to have her! Teaching Art is Lindsay's dream job - kids, paint & fun ! She attended Azusa Pacific University and received her B.A. in multiple subject education and then went on to Touro University for her multiple subject teaching credential. She has been married for 14 years and has four fantastic who are all VCA students. . Lindsay loves Jesus, Art, all things Hawaii, pastries, fresh peonies, baking yummy things & lots of coffee. She loves VCA because she gets to teach students about art AND Christ!
Spanish - Sonia Tinnon
Mrs. Tinnon has been at VCA since 2014. She teaches K-8th grade Spanish and Technology for 3rd-8th Grade! She has been married for 24 years and has four children. She enjoys watching her children compete in High School & collegiate sports. She also enjoys teaching the New Believer’s class alongside her husband at their home church Hillside.
Music - Molly Blackmon
We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Blackmon, our newest addition to the VCA family, as our new music teacher. With a heart for worship and a passion for glorifying the Lord through music, she’s eager to inspire her students to discover the joy of praising God through song. Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Molly and her husband made their way to Napa in 2021. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music and Business from Lee University and currently serves as the Worship Director at Christ Church Napa. She also teaches private voice and piano at a local music school. When she's not teaching, you'll likely find her enjoying life with her husband and their two dogs, curled up with a good book, or cheering on Alabama football. Roll Tide!
